Hi everyone I am looking for some reassurance 🌟.

Has anyone had a general anaesthetic in the second trimester during pregnancy or a previous pregnancy. I will be 25 weeks pregnant when I have surgery. My gallbladder has been terrible from about 5 weeks pregnant and it is only getting worse. Its full of gallstones and my surgeon has now decided its best my gallbladder is removed. We were originally trying to wait until baby is born but its not working out that way. I am in chronic pain and I have a 3 year old and a 8 month old to look after so trying to take it easy isn’t an option. The surgeon has warned me of the risks and one is that I may loose my baby and Its left me so worried. I guess my question is have any of you gone through surgery under a general and babys been okay? Should I just suffer more and hope my gallbladder doesn’t get infected in the meantime.

Thanks for reading

🌟 update just incase someone else ends up trying to find some reassurance like I was. Surgery went well and thankfully baby is fine. I was sore and uncomfortable for about 3-5 days and exhausted for a good week. I was able to look after my 2 kids and lift my not so little 9 month old weighing about 27pounds after about a week. It took about 2 weeks before I felt my normal self again though. Im so glad the surgery is done now and glad I never have to go through another gallbladder flare up again. I can finally enjoy this pregnancy.
