Does anyone else let their baby use you as their ￼ pacifier because it’s the only way to calm them down and get them to sleep? I lay down when breastfeeding and my baby literally uses me as his pacifier for like an hour until he falls asleep and I just let me because he will cry if I don’t and he doesn’t take real pacifiers

My daughter sucks on her dad’s bicep while he’s holding her until she falls asleep. He has arm hickeys 😂
But yeah, sometimes I’ll let her just pacify on me until she falls asleep. Then I make the quick nip-to-passie switcharoo to put her to bed.

My son has to use me as his pacifier too.  I try the switcheroo to pacifier routine once he's nearly asleep but it rarely works.  On top of the fact that I'm his pacifier he also likes to sleep on me or in my arms.  When I lay him down he usually wakes up and fusses demanding his titty and mama.

Just be careful with forming a feed to sleep/pacifying to sleep habit because they can be hard to break— assuming at some point you don’t want to have to be doing that.

Humans existed before pacifiers so don’t we use pacifiers in place of the nipple, rather than the other way around?
