Vbac???

Any VBAC stories? So i had my first child via csection a year ago and I’m currently 38 weeks.. I’m confused whether i should go ahead and try VBAC or just have a repeat csection. Any stories? Or suggestions ? My doctor is really pushing a csection not giving my vbac any thoughts whatsoever and not even explaining why or giving any reason. I have no complications with this pregnancy and no complications with my first pregnancy either.

Typically providers will not allow a vbac attempt unless there was at least 12-18 months between previous c section and onset of the new pregnancy. I think you would have a hard time finding an OB that would agree to a vbac with pregnancies that close together after a section because the increased risks involved.

Have you asked them why they don’t want to give you your vbac? That’s typically something that should have been discussed at the beginning of your pregnancy and not so late into. Some doctors do and some doctors don’t and that can be extremely risky for them to try and do, especially having a csection and vbac so close together. They probably don’t want to risk a uterine rupture.
