6 weeks postpartum, first period extremely heavy

I had my baby 6 weeks ago, and my first period is so heavy, I’m bleeding through a heavy flow pad every hour and the cramp are unbelievably painful. Is this normal? I’ve attached a tmi photo to show how much I’m bleeding. I’ve never had heavy periods and after my first daughter my periods just went back to normal...
