Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)

Did it help? I would like to try this instead of an epidural. With my last child, I had horrible back labor. I had a spinal injection because it was too late for an epidural. I also had IV pain relief prior to that. The IV pain relief did absolutely nothing for me but make me puke with every contraction. Will nitrous oxide be more like the IV pain relief? Or does it work a little better?
