One sided cramps

Hey girlies. I’m 7 weeks today, I noticed some cramping on and off on one side. It isn’t bad but it is enough to make me worry since my first pregnancy, I didn’t have this. I was just at my appointment yesterday and my doctor said if I have any painful cramps or bleeding then I need to be seen right away. I’m curious, if it’s an ectopic pregnancy then wouldn’t I be in severe pain right now given that I’m 7 weeks? I’ve circled the area where it’s cramping. Do I need to call and be checked? It’s been the whole day just on and off. Pain scale about 2/3 out of 10.
