Perfect engagement ring ??

Ok girls! First I want to say what is most important to me is of course be with my man. I know some will react in the wrong way. So, I found the rings that my boyfriend has for his ex girlfriend that he never proposed at the end ( long story) . The ring is cute, but I’m thinking: I hope he will get me one ring that goes with my style. I don’t care the price, I don’t care if diamonds or not, I just want one ring that goes with my style. How was your experience??? Did you suggest any ideas to your fiancé??? Don’t think I’m selfish, opposite, I rather have one $50 dollars ring that goes with my style than a $6K ring that I don’t like.

Why doesnt he sell the ring? Why is he still holding onto it? I'm not big on pressuring my SO into proposing so I made a pinterest board with rings I like, gave him the handle and haven't bugged him again since then. He'll get to it when he's ready!

If you’re talking about marriage, be open with him and tell him what you like and what you don’t. That’s the only way to ensure that happens. If you can’t openly communicate on what you want, you probably aren’t ready to be getting engaged. My original engagement ring was a family ring. I loved it at first, but was honestly really disappointed that I didn’t get my own. My husband was looking at rings, but my mom offered him the ring and he accepted.  He thought it meant a lot to me, and it does, but I’d have liked my own. For our anniversary we upgraded. We picked it out together. I’d have loved for him to have picked it out himself, but he wanted to be sure I got what I wanted.

My husband pays attention to my likes and dislikes. He picked an engagement ring I liked. In fact, he told me he used to wear it on his pinky when he talked to me over the phone. He said it grew 3x from the original ring he showed my dad when he wanted him to know his intentions. However, I don't expect him to be a mind reader. When I like something, I email several wish list items and he surprises me when he picks one.

Most men would prefer you give them some suggestions so don’t feel bad about pointing out something you really like (or being honest about what you DONT like). 
I felt awkward about telling my now husband what I wanted, so I told him when he was ready to look at rings to ask my best friend and she would know what I liked. And then I gave her VERY specific notes on what I wanted! 😂 
My husband got to control the budget, while still knowing exactly what details about shape and setting I wanted. And I got to be totally surprised by the proposal! Everyone was happy. 🙂

My husband and I actually went together and bought both of our rings. We went to a few pawn shops and at the 3rd one I found a set that I absolutely loved. For the engagement ring and wedding band was only $200. It's 14k white gold with diamonds, I'm not sure of the actual size of the diamonds. Then we took it to a place to have the rings sized to fit my fingers because who ever had them before had a size 4 ring and my size is a 10 lol. But that was $150 to size them. So all together $350 for the whole set that love. Now that was my second set of rings. Back when he proposed he took me to Kmart and I picked out my engagement ring, they had a 70% off sale and got a 10k white gold ring with 3 diamonds for $75. My second set was an upgrade for our 10 year anniversary.

I don’t think you’re being selfish at all. I would tell him that in the future, you’d like something that is very “you” and even say that you wouldn’t mind picking out rings together if you’d like. Just not the ex’s ring- I would personally be offended. 🤷‍♀️

We went to the jewelry store together one time to look at rings, it helped to figure out the style. Then he went on his own later and picked out the exact ring so I was still surprised when he proposed.

I picked my ring out and sent a link to my fiancé now and just told him listen, I’m not a big diamond girl so let me save you some money and I’ll help direct you in the right direction. Don’t aggressively tell him you want to pick it our but just stress how important it is to you to have this piece of jewelry be something you love too!!! I absolutely love mine and my fiancé loved that he got to save a few thousand I’m sure!
