Any advice for my first time?

I'm getting married in a month and a half and we have decided to wait until our wedding night to have sex. That being said - I'm a virgin but he isn't. He is 100% loving and understanding and patient but I don't want our first time to be terrible for either of us! Anyone have any advice for me?

First of all, congratulations on the wedding!

Alright, so, first times can be really awkward, or weird, or funny! Your comfort level will vary, depending on how far you've gone, and whether you've already seen eachother naked or not.

A few basic things:
-LUBE. You might need it. Everyone does once in a while.

-Take a long time enjoying foreplay. Really explore and pleasure eachother before you go for the PIV.

-Are you planning to use contraception? If so, you should plan that out (you probably have time to get on the pill and have it be effective)

-It might feel weird or uncomfortable. That's normal when there hasn't been anything bigger than a tampon inside you. If it's REALLY painful, then stop and slow down. If it's just a bit uncomfortable, use some lube, take deep breaths and just go for it. I'm not at all new to sex, but sometimes when me and BF are going at it it takes a couple thrusts for me to 'open up' so to speak.

Certain positions might be easier too! If he's not a virgin, then I suggest you let him take the lead!

Missionary is ok, but I personally prefer it when I'm lying on the bed and he's standing, with my feet up on his shoulders, it's easier to control penetration that way.

Girl-on-top is also good, because then you control the penetration and gravity helps you.

That being said, missionary (guy or girl on top) is nice because you can hold eachother. :)

Nothing can prepare you for it, you're lucky you're spending your first time with your husband and he will guide you and you'll have nothing to worry about, just go with the flow
