To move in or not to move in

Call me old school but I do not want to move in with my boyfriend u til we are engaged. He currently lives in my apt. building (we met here) and he is trying get me to move in with him to his new house. We have been together for almost 1.5 years. It feels like the house is something he wants to marry more than anyone. Today he said “I’m 35, I want a serious relationship.” This was an insult to me. I’m a year older than him and I am always saying how I am interested in being committed to one another. He says “we have to do everything on my timeline.”

Do you think it’s unrealistic to want to be engaged before I move in? A little back story... I was engaged to someone who eventually cheated on me after he proposed.
