Is it ever a good idea to message your exes after a while?

We where together for about 3 months but talked for over a year, never really saw eachother much outside of school except parties we went to together and I felt like he wasn't proud of me in front of his friends, we argued a lot but not all the time. I just feel like because of the time I spent talking to him day and night I have a bit of a void in my life and want to talk to him again... Opinions?

I had been friends with my ex boyfriend for about 2 years before we got together, we were only together for about 2 months but after we broke up we continued to talk and I feel like I Am better friends with him now than before☺️

sometimes it is, it's truly situation dependant, but 9 times out of 10 it isn't. I can see why you would want to in your situation but if I was in your position I would keep the relationship you once had close to your heart, acknowledge and accept that things are different now, and move on to new things without having ties with that part of your past. I'm sorry you are going through this, I know it's difficult, but allow time to heal and the urge to talk to him will fade

Oh honey, I was there a few months ago. I messaged him and we met up and hung out which led to sex and after that he was just done with me. I seriously thought I loved the guy but I was wrong. I wouldn't do it.
