Should I start evening primrose oil?

My doctor has decided to induce me on Dec 2nd I will be 38 weeks. Originally doctor said to start taking it at 37 weeks that's when we were sticking to my due date. So my question is should I go a head and start taking it. I'm not dilated any and barely even starting to thin. I asked the doctor she said use my own judgment. I just want the induction to go smooth as possible.
