Membrane sweep????

Hello ! This is my 4th pregnancy and I’ve been induced with my past 2, I really wanted to go into labor naturally not hooked up to the machines to start it, I was wondering if any of you ladies have had a membrane sweep ? I was wondering if it really works and what some of you ladies have experienced because of it.

I had it done with my two previous pregnancies. With both I had my babies the next day! So yes it definitely worked for me and will be trying it this time around as well.

I had one at 39 weeks with my son. It’s definitely very uncomfortable, I was already dilated 2cm. My doctor did it on that Monday morning around 11, I had him the next day at 2:10p.m.

I had one at 39 weeks with my last and it didn’t do anything. I was 1cm when they did it.   It didn’t hurt at all for me so I will def try it again with this baby

It only worked on my 5th baby I had him the next morning! I was induced with all my previous ones as well. Good luck!

I had 2 with my son i ended up induced. Had 1 with my daughter and went into labor an hour after my sweep but didnt go to the hospital til 14 hrs later. I was barely 2cm when I got my sweep and was barely a 5cm when I arrived at the hospital. My body for some reason kicks into labor but as soon as I progress it stalls, thankfully with my daughter they went ahead and admitted me since I knew my body stalls labor I immediately asked for the epidural and sure enough after I got it labor stopped but because my epidural was in they popped my waters and started pitocin. Had my appointment mid morning the day before had her at around 6pm. The next day. It can go either way. But like I said I had my sons not work, but my daughters did. But also with my daughter I had my sweep I also pumped my leaking boobs and bounced on a ball for almost the whole day. I was on a mission to get her out, I had spd really really bad with her so I was beyond ready.

I've had two membrane sweeps - one at 38 weeks and one at 39 weeks. At the 39 week one my OB took extra time to "reeeeaaaaaally stir things up in there!"
Besides mild cramping nothing happened. Neither put me into labor. I was still induced.
