Anyone else’s baby hate almost all foods?!

My son is 8 months and we have tried so many foods. He will only eat avocado, butternut squash and sweet potatoes. Everything else he literally spits out, Gags, pushes us away or shakes his head no! We make his food, so I’m starting to question if I’m doing something wrong and should switch to jar food. I hate to do that, but I’ve never met a baby that won’t eat some of these foods. He hates all the fruits we have tried....just looking for some support.
