6w6d ultrasound, no embryo seen??

Question

I just came back from my first 6w6d ultrasound and they only saw a gestational sac, no embryo. The ultrasound tech was surprised that i was scheduled so “early” and didn’t think we would see anything anyway. I don’t understand because ive seen other ultrasounds at this stage that were successful. ?? 
Should i be worried?

That’s pretty normal for that early. It’s possible your dates are off a bit of that implantation took a little longer.

You could just be earlier than expected..,usually in the UK we don’t have our first ultrasound till 12 weeks anyways as there isn’t much to see

That’s why they usually do the first ultrasound between 8-12 weeks
