Have you ever had to break up with someone you’re absolutely in love with?

I am absolutely head over heels my current long distance boyfriend but I’m not so sure he’s on the same page as me?

Yesterday he told me we should go on a break so that he can find himself in terms of his career. He wants to focus on his business and build it up without any interruptions in terms of family, friends, and even me...

When I asked how long, he initially said he doesn’t want to put a time frame on it. But then I asked again and he said maybe 1-2 weeks.

For long distance, that seems awfully long, but I’m willing to give him that peace of mind if it means he’ll be happy..even if it’s at the cost of my own happiness.

My only thing is, the thought of me breaking up with him is unbearable. I can’t even fathom the thought of doing it because I love him so much.

Have you guys ever felt this strongly and still broke up?
