Acid Reflux Baby
Hello everyone. I am a struggling and very desperate mother in need. I’m a first time mom, and have a four month (soon to be five month old) daughter. When Scarlett was born, she was such an amazing eater and did not spit up at all! She did show some reflux signs which I know now but didn’t back then. At one and a half months old she began spitting up A LOT! And I mean after every feeding, like four spit-ups per feeding, even hours after, she’d be spitting up. Her formula intake decreased drastically, she went from having 25 oz a day to only 12-15 oz per day. I was in and out of the pediatricians and they just told me it was normal and would go away on its own. Eventually after fighting them for a while, and after them witnessing her loosing weight, they diagnosed her and gave her lansoprazole and switched her formula to hypoallergenic. She hated Alimentum and Nutramigen, she does not want on its own, I have to mix it with her regular Similac. She’s been on the medication for about a month now, and she is not spitting up as much, maybe once or twice per day, but she still refuses to eat. She consumes like two ounces per bottle and she’s done. I’ve tried various things, like feeding her on her own schedule, different bottle brands, quiet room, different flow nipples, different positions, and nothing works. I currently am awaiting her appointment with a new pediatrician because I really have had it with her current one. But her appointment is at the end of the month and I just feel so emotional, because I really want my baby to not keep losing weight and to prevent hospitalization. I just want to know if anybody has dealt with this and any tips or any sort of advice. Are there any other formulas to try? Or anything? Anything is appreciated, thanks!
