My sisters boyfriend snapped at me for no reason

Sigh.... I have never felt so disrespected by someone that is not family or that close to me what I mean by that is you know ppl you are close to you are the most emotional/vocal with. It was my dads birthday and they came over. My husband and I live with my parents and our 2 year old daughter. We pay them rent for half the house. Whenever my sisters boyfriend comes over he never takes his shoes off, even though I ask nicely and my sister knows I don’t like street shoes in the house. He wears big combat style boots or old sneakers. I try to keep our floors very clean especially because of the pandemic, young child and our pets. I have a Halloween front door mat that says ‘Shoes Off Witches’ It’s cute Halloween style from Target.

So they get here and he stomps right in I ask in a joking way, ‘did you see my new mat, Shoes Off Witches ;)’ He doesn’t even look in my direction, walks right by, goes into the kitchen, grabs a drink and sits in the back living room. So much for respecting that I try to keep my floors clean...

I brush it off cause it’s my dads birthday. My husband ran to the store to grab champagne to celebrate. The food arrived while he was gone. No one wanted to wait for him to eat so they start eating even though I said only five minutes. When my husband gets back, I realize there are only four place holders at the table, not six. I ask if we are able to find two more chairs so we can join them if that’s ok?

Before anyone can answer, my sisters boyfriend replies, ‘What the fuck is your problem I am just so sick of your negative attitude all the time you can never be pleasant what the Fuck??’

I was stunned. No one replied, so I gathered my courage and said I am not trying to be negative just asking if there are more chairs. My husband came over and gave him a look and walked away I could tell he wanted to beat his ass but he took the high road.

Anyway... an hour later we are in the family room. He starts taking pictures of my daughter and my patents together like ok cute but you want to disrespect me and take family photos of my parents and daughter?

My dad was trying to keep the peace, it’s his birthday I think everyone was including me it definitely hurt my feelings to be so disrespected by someone a decade younger than me, he is 28.

We had nice plans to go to a cabin for Thanksgiving I cringe if he will be there to lash out for me for what I don’t know! I feel like there’s no apology coming they think they are better than us if obviously he can talk to me that way.
