Should I get a pack n play or crib?

Question

What would save you money but also be the most useful?
I’m thinking 3(4) in 1 crib but I have zero experience.  
I don’t really plan on the kid going to different houses to stay but if they did a pack n play would be nice.
Opinions? Also I hope this is the right room...

We have both. We know baby won’t be in his room the first 4-6 months so we got a pack n play for our room that has the bassinet level but will be used as a pack n play after the first few months as well. 
We have a crib in his room that we will use for a nap everyday as well as transition him in there after a while.  The crib we got is convertible and it wasn’t much more expensive than a regular non convertible. 
 
If you’re only getting one but still want to room share I’d get a mini crib so it takes up less space but it is still a crib since the bottom of the pack n play is lower to reach into and is kinda hard seems uncomfortable but “comfy” modifications can make it unsafe.

PAC n play. I used that for the first 6 months then bought the cribs that change to toddler beds. Wasn’t until I needed them to change to toddler beds that I found out that it costs another $100+ to buy the parts to convert them to the toddler bed and that just wasn’t worth it.

If you're only able to get one, get the crib. The pack n play will only get you until age 1 max. But you could use the pack n play initially and then get the crib later. I personally never used my 4 in 1 so you don't really need a 4 in 1. But my favorite cribs were the fisher price ones from walmart.com I had 3 of them and they were better than our pricier Graco

Definitely PNP for us. We never bothered with a crib and definitely no bassinet... My son has been in his since he was born and still uses when we travel and he’s 3! My little one is about to be 1 and she also sleeps in hers.

We got a portable pack an play so she’ll be in it for the first few months, and then when she’s ready to transition we’ll put her in a crib that changes as she grows.
