Allergies?

Does anyone have suggestions on what to do for allergies while pregnant? My ob was just like “well you won’t be pregnant forever so don’t take anything you don’t have to.” Which I understand, but at the same time, my allergies are pretty severe. 3 nasal sprays and daily meds. I can handle the stuffiness, but I’m concerned about sleep apnea. I snore a good bit because I have a deviated septum so the allergies just makes it worse. Do netti pots work? Any other baby safe suggestions?

For my first pregnancy my dr gave me a huge list of medication that was safe. Maybe you should ask for something like this. I don’t have my list anymore. Hopefully I’ll get a new list at my first appointment.

You can take Benadryl and Claritin while pregnant. I don’t take them in the same day but both are ok separately at least. ￼

My doctor said Claritin is ok, and I took it most of my first pregnancy and I am continuing to take it this pregnancy. Also spraying with saline and using a saline wash may help. I prefer the Neil Med sinus rinse to a neti pot, i find it much more comfortable and easier to use. Just make sure you use distilled water. I have had sinus issues for most of my life, including two sinus surgeries for deviated septum. I also had sleep apnea and I’m going next month to a sleep specialist to get my cpap. The sleep apnea was so bad when I was pregnant with my first.
