Should I break up ?

I’ve been dating this guy about 8 months. I was smitten by him in the beginning, but the more time that goes by I notice things that bother me. He has a drinking problem, I didn’t realize how much he relies on alcohol. He isn’t religious. Doesn’t believe in God and that is something that is important to me. He isn’t into politics. Every time I ask him something that most people have an opinion about he doesn’t. The more I think about it, we have little to no commonalities. Different music taste, style, finances, communication, isn’t a ton of sexual chemistry. Like I try to understand him and his hobbies but I don’t feel like he tries to understand mine..like trying new activities. He isn’t all bad, he is a nice guy. He’s really respectful and funny. I’ve tried to fall in love with him but I haven’t. I’ve already broken up with him once..do you think I should give it more time or give up?
