My husband was married 2x before and had a child with each, so I guess in a way I’m in this situation.  I’ve noticed it has a lot to do with how they are raised.  Personally, I think my MIL did a shitty job at this, and I can’t stand the woman.  However as far as the ex’s go, I don’t have any real contact with them so it’s not always a huge deal.  However it’s fucking hard, if I could go back I’d likely make a different choice.  But we love each other and have 2 kids of our own and make it work.  No, my husband isn’t perfect or ideal but like some said the true colors don’t always show right away.  It’s not enough to leave him though.  As for why he left them?  He was cheated on by both and felt he deserved better.  So that’s that.  He has issues he refuses to work through so I just am like whatever.  Personally unless you really don’t have a choice, pick a man with no kids.  It’s so much easier.
