I’m so stupid -could I get pregnant like this?

So I had unprotected sex on the 22nd so 4 days ago . I am on the pill ,so I was not worried about getting pregnant. I was supposed to start my period today according to the calendar so I stopped taking my birth control to bring on my period, but I totally forgot it might make me ovulate and I could get pregnant. Am I okay with not taking the pill or should I continue to take it? The reason i stopped taking it is because I use my pill to skip periods and I want to have my period.
