What do we need?

Question

There seems to be a lot of opinions of what we will need to buy for our first baby. We are the first to have one and have no idea what's necessary and what's "want". 
We live in a fairly big house so space isn't an issue. 
We live in the middle of nowhere though and have to drive every where. 
Any suggestions? We're also confused about the differences between cot ,crib, basionette, and what each of them is for and do we need them all?

We had a rock n play for our daughter to sleep in in our room. You can use a bassinet. And then we have her crib in her room for when she's ready to sleep in that. I used a swing a lot when she was first born. And she's 3 months now and I still use it. Lots of clothes, diapers/wipes, baby wash, a baby bath, bottles, breast pump and lots of blankets and burp rags. Babies are low maintenance and you don't really need much for them.

Really all you need for the first months are a safe place for baby to sleep (preferably nearby), a safe place to play, car seat, and a good feeding system.  We have a small home so space was major for us. I bought things that would serve multiple purposes. We use a graco soothing system for her bassinet/swing/bouncer. It has a lay flat bassinet that attaches to the swing and a bouncer seat that also swings. Both are easily moved around the house so that is a big help.  We got a car seat with a base so that we don't have to constantly strap her into the car. It snaps into the jogging stroller too (graco relay click connect travel system). I am breastfeeding but my husband gives one bottle a day so baby girl is ready when I go back to work. This is my favorite item so far. (Kiinde twist feeding system)

Some things that we like but don't absolutely need are a diaper genie. Someone gave me a used one and it's handy. I really like my Ktan wrap. It's nice when I need my hands free around the house or at the grocery store. A nose Frieda has been great too. Mush easier to get at all those baby boogers. I like my puj tub too but any kind of tub will make bath time easier until lo can sit up. And lastly a small noise machine has been helpful when she is fighting sleep or over stimulated. I hope this helps!
