My husband just confessed that he tried to cheat on me, but failed. What do I do?

I’ve been married for a year and a half and my husband just told me her tried to cheat on me while we were still dating, but the girl turned him down. He said after that he didn’t try again. I told him I didn’t know what to say so I won’t say anything for now. I honestly don’t think I would’ve agreed to marry him if I knew about this before. I’ve seen how much cheating can hurt a relationship and I don’t want that for myself. Should I try to move past this/ deal with it somehow?

He didn't try to cheat, he did cheat. He just didn't have sex with her, and that was only because she said no. He violated your relationship, broke your trust, and disrespected you. He's had at least a year and a half to come clean and didn't. Why now? Is the other woman threatening to come forward? Did the guilt finally get to him? Is he talking to another woman and seeing what he can get away with? Who fucking knows.
You have every right to feel how you do. I personally wouldn't be able to stay with someone who so easily lied to me for years, but that is just me. You're the only one who knows him and your relationship, and knows whether it can be salvaged or not.

“Once a cheater always a cheater” isn’t the best rule of thumb. “Once a PROUD cheater, always a cheater” is better. 
Often, the same people will have wandering eyes their whole lives, but that can be controlled if they want to. People can change, learn, and grow. If your SO seems guilty about it, they probably won’t do it again.

I’d do therapy ASAP. Not to make things worse, but I’d also wonder if he did cheat with her,but is lying to make it not seem as bad as a way of getting out the guilty feelings. I wish you best of luck. There’s only one person I know who’s had cheating in the relationship and is happily married now for 22 years, and he did a full 180. It was early in his marriage. Like got off drugs, stopped cheating, gave his life to Christ and started an organization to help teach Christ to prison inmates, and the homeless. Like you can actually tell he’s a totally different person, so I know change can be real. But you gotta be careful. I don’t know what’s best for you, hon. I'd divorce him.
Because if I had known he cheated, I don't care if she agreed, he made the effort and therefore he cheated, I wouldn't have married him.
I'd feel tricked, lied to, betrayed, hurt and everything in between. And I'd feel it all while being divorced. I couldn't stay married to a person I know the only thing that came in between the physical act of cheating was her saying no, and he then lied about it through and engagement and a wedding. 
Throw the whole damn man away.
