Invasion of privacy?

My mom said she was looking for a tampon or a pen (i can’t remember which) and she found condoms in my purse. I honestly kind of forgot that they were in there. My friends bought them for me as a joke but I kept them in there because even though I don’t have a boyfriend I am sexually active but my mom doesn’t know that. She flipped out on me and wants to talk to me about it but I feel the way she found them is a little suspicious. I’m 16 btw. What do you girls think?
