Inner cervix and outer cervix?

So I recently went to the Er and the sent me to LD to be monitored. When I went to LD they had to gave two people check me and the first told me I was closed then she couldn’t finish and had to grab someone else to check. The next lovely lady who came in told me my inner was at a 2 and my outer was at a 3. I asked her what that meant and she didn’t really tell me which i completely understand that she might not be aloud to. They let me go home and told me i was having contractions but not consistent and could be from other things like dehydration even tho they told me I was well hydrated. They discharged me and I asked the nurse about being dilated and she said I was only at a 1 and not thinned at all and that’s why my doctor left safe sending me home. The nurse who told me I was at a 1 was the same nurse who couldn’t complete the cervix check on me because she couldn’t feel it. I’m just very confused why I was told 3 different things? I was told closed then 2 and 3 then 1.
