Abuse in relationship

What would you guys do and or react like if your partner of years started loosing his patience with you to the point where he gets physical and emotionally abusive and then says it’s stress or years of pent of problems blah blah saying he feels alone and is stressed and that’s why he’s lashing out at me as if I haven’t been nothing but support and comfort through the years . As if I deserved it . Anyways it’s kind of a shock to me still .. it’s a shock while it happens and it’s a shock after words I don’t even know what to think or how to react .. it’s been years together , great times . Any words would help and don’t hold back .. if I’m acting dumb just say that ! 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤞🏾
