Cold sore still contagious ?

Hi loves,

I know you all aren’t doctors, but most of you probably know more than me.

I had a nasty cold sore pop up 14 days ago (before I went on holiday with my boyfriend yay) and we did the smart thing and didn’t kiss or anything so cold sore didn’t spread.

But after the scab healed, it’s left a nasty red spot, I think it’s just a scar because it’s not getting any better but it’s not getting any worse.

There’s still a tiny lump there, and the last thing I want is to give my boyfriend cold sores. Should I keep waiting or once the scabs gone it’s healed ?
