When to take pregnancy test?

Hi all!

I’m 29 and my partner is 31 and we have been trying for a baby recently. I stopped my contraceptive pill (microgynon) on the 31st October. We started trying straight away but a couple of days later I got a withdrawal bleed. I was told By the doctors I may not ovulate for a couple months because of the pill however I sensed I was ovulating so I did a clear blue digital ovulation test and I had high fertility Monday this week and peak on the Tuesday. I took that as a good sign that I’m ovulating already.

I know the rule of thumb is you have a period 14 days ish after you ovulate however is this the same for me after coming off the pill? Sorry if it’s a silly question! Just want to know when to take a test. X
