Baby or young kids COVID tested?

So got the call from daycare that I’ve been dreading...another child in the daycare tested positive and both my girls were around the child on Monday so they have to get tested.  My oldest is 2.5 years old and my baby is 5 months- dreading both of their tests so bad! Has anyone here had their kids tested? And how did it go- any way to try and prepare them? And yourself 😭

Yeah no way, IMO if I’m not sick or having symptoms I’m not getting tested nor are my children

Mine has to get tested this week before some swallow tests and I’m so stressed about it. I have to saline and suction her so much throughout the day that she’s really upset when you get near her nose. 💔😭

Aw sorry! My kids are the same ages and also in daycare- I know this will someday likely be us too sooner or later!
It’s not fun but they’ve definitely experienced worse things (like shots). My 2 yr old got tested in June before a minor surgery. She wasn’t happy about it and cried a lot, but it was over pretty quick (and honestly she cries just as much about other totally minor stuff). We did it at the drive-through testing site, so she was strapped into her car seat. Not sure if that was better or worse honestly!
I’ve had it done twice (before giving birth and then when I had a random cold with a fever, both times were negative). It wasn’t fun; mostly a lot of stinging but a little pain. But definitely nothing to dread or avoid.

My poor little guy got it at 3 months due to being hospitalized from severe GERD he turned BRIGHT red and was screeching. It was really hard to hold him down for them and I felt absolutely horrible about it..

My baby got tested a few weeks ago and didn’t even cry .

Aw so sorry you (and they) have to go through this. Luckily I haven't had to deal with this but best of luck ❤️
