Cluster nursing and postpartum bleeding ?

My little man is 10 days old and cluster nursing. I had virtually no bleeding and now I'm having random gushes of fresh blood and the occasional clot. This is my third breast fed baby and I don't remember this happening with my other two. Is this normal/okay?

I'm almost 5 weeks pp and stopped bleeding a few days ago. I had times of slow and heavy bleeding with clots during those weeks. Get your breastfeeding on!! Awesome

Your body produces a hormone called oxytocin during breastfeeding which makes the uterus contract, get rid of waste and go back to it's normal pre pregnancy size.  So yes what you are experiencing sounds normal.  If you start to have heavier bleeding you should call your doc. Congrats your little one is precious!
