When’s the last time someone told you they were proud of you?

I was video calling my Dad today, telling him about life and stuff, and gushing about my fiancé to him. And he let me talk, kind of with a sentimental smile, and when I was done talking he said “you’ve grown up so much, and I’m really proud of you.”

I legit teared up. I respect my Dad a lot, he’s been through so much, and I always felt like I could never be as strong and persevering as him. I’ve always wanted him to be proud of me, and I guess I always knew deep down he is, it’s just nice to hear it sometimes.
