How to stop smoking?

Hey mamas im new. Im 26w+4d. I live in NC and am afraid that baby and I will be tested. What are some tips for me to stop? When did stop? Did you get tested after you stopped?

I live in California where it has been legal recreationally for a couple of years now. That being said, I stopped smoking the day I found out. I did a ton of research to help me decide if it was safe to continue smoking. What I found was there aren’t any studies that indicate your child won’t be affected/delayed due to cannabis use. There are studies showing a slight correlation between delayed motor and verbal skills in children who had prolonged thc exposure in the womb and through breastmilk. How is that not enough in itself to get you to quit? Being a mother is about sacrifice and putting your child first. I could never forgive myself if my child was delayed simply because I wanted a bong hit. It’s just not worth it. There are no addictive agents in marijuana that are causing you to continue smoking it’s literally just a lack of will power. I’m not judging you for smoking weed, believe me; I love it just as much as the next bored housewife and I am very much looking forward to the day I can sit on my porch and smoke a joint with my husband again. But when it comes to my kids, I will do EVERYTHING in my power to give them a good start in life and that starts with a clean pregnancy. You can do it girl! Just be disciplined with yourself! And FYI, the cannabinoids stay in breast milk for up to 5/7 days. So keep that in mind if your planning to smoke and breastfeed.

I live in NY where it is still illegal, and every single appointment I have to give a Urine sample so I don’t take any risks, I quit as soon as I got a positive test. I was a very frequent smoker and just quit cold turkey it was easier knowing I had a baby inside me that needed me to be as healthy as I can be, and I couldn’t smoke knowing everything I inhale my baby does as well, some are different though. Once baby is born CPS will be at your bedside! Since baby isn’t here yet, they can’t say or do much but once baby is here, he/she will be tested and if positive, you will have yourself a case! I worked in the field and my best friend is high in the ranks at CPS. Quit now.

Your ob has probably been testing you this whole time and I think after 20 weeks baby builds up meconin (idk how to spell it) and it’ll be there until birth so if they want, they will test the baby’s poop and you might get a visit from CPS.

You will definitely be tested, and CPS will definitely pay you a visit, likely in the hospital. I would suggest contacting your OB ASAP to figure out a good way to quit.

I would definitely stop ASAP, you honestly never know what’s going to happen especially with you being almost 7 months pregnant and last thing you want to do is have CPS interfering with you and your child’s relationship.. ways to stop? Just think about your kid before you even think about picking up a blunt and getting high.. nothing is worth the risk of you getting your kid taken away💯

I live in NC as well. I personally have never smoked during my pregnancy, but my sister did. It was a situation where she literally did not know she was pregnant, and then when she found out she delivered a week later premature. The babies were tested and were positive and she had CPS visit her and there was a case. But once they saw that she was a fit mother (she has 6 kids total) the case was dropped.

In NC, it is illegal obviously as you know. They test babes blood for any and everything at birth- I think that was the one thing I never had much knowledge about. There’s a lot that they have to look for and screening for drugs is just a small fraction of that. Depending on your levels, you definitely may be looking at a visit, or call at least from CPS. My biggest advice to you is to try your hardest to at least switch to CBD smoke products, no THC. Though smoking anything while pregnant isn’t proven safe enough, and oxygen deprivation can occur (like if you take too big of a hit and cough, your baby could be impacted negatively.) 
If you can switch to CBD gummies (I’m totally just making the assumption that you’re saying you smoke weed,) that will at least benefit your baby and your outcome in bloodwork.
Though, as others have stated, they have likely already seen you test positive for that in your system, from bloodwork and urine samples, and are likely aware.

If been a daily smoker since 16 years old I'm 29 now  I smoked my first pregnancy and this one its 100% legal to smoke here they don't take ur baby ...... And all my friends do also just saying my obgyn know they just say theyhavent had enough research yet affect s on child but my mom born fine from my gram who smoked daily and my first born who is 4 now fine
