If you are anxious/terrified about a c-section, read this.

Clare

I will be having my second c-section in January due to having one with my first child and my OBGYN was straightforward that they do not do VBACs...and I did not feel the need to fight back. My first c-section was an emergency one because his heart rate kept dropping during labor.

Anyway, if you are in a similar situation, just try to relax. Getting a spinal tap or epidural is pretty uneventful. Your body will be completely numb once you receive the medicine for the c section and I basically describe it as feeling like a floating head. I could not feel any pain during the incision process and I delivery....it kind of felt like a lot of odd pressure. Then suddenly I heard a baby cry and their he was. It took maybe like 10 minutes. I was able to bond and have alone time with my baby and husband in the recovery room. Bonus: no vaginal tears. I was on a pain med regimen and when I left they gave me a prescription for Percocet or norco but I never took any at hone. I had to go easy for a couple weeks but now I call my scar my “baby birth tattoo.” This second time around I have little to no anxiety and thought I would just have fun with the circumstances...nothing like pampering yourself the night before so you can look good for your first pictures 😉 good luck if you have to get a c-section, it is still such a beautiful birth and makes you a strong mama!
