Hospital bag in the car or just at home?

Question

I have my hospital bag packed and ready to go but should I put it in the car to be ready? I’m 36 weeks and have an appt tomorrow. Idk why, I’ve just been totally overthinking this time around and want to make sure I’m ready if I go into labor. I live in southern ca though and it’s been warm so idk if I should leave my stuff in the car or not. What are you guys doing with yours? Just leave it at the house or in the car? Hospital is 30ish mins away from our house so that’s why I kinda want to have it on me but it’s been warm so I don’t want our toiletries melting lol help ease my mind please

I’m keeping them in my room because I will have a few last minute items that need to be added. Also, even if they sent me from an appt to the hospital I would just stop home and get my bag and stuff 🤷🏼‍♀️ you will have at least a little bit of time realistically

I personally was conflicted too but I decided it’s best to keep our bags in our room until the time comes. Mainly because my fiancé works (Mon-Fri) 15-20mins away from our house and just in case someone else has to take me to the hospital while he’s coming from his job at least I’ll have the bags🤷🏻‍♀️ idk sounds kinda stupid now that I’m typing it out lol but that’s just what I feel is best.

Mine would 100% get stolen in my neighborhood. I'm not giving the thieves an excuse to smash my window 😒 plus I live 5 minutes from the hospital I'll deliver at. Best to leave it in the house for me.

Keeping it in the bedroom so I can throw in last minute items, like my phone charger and other everyday stuff, before running out the door. But if we’re going somewhere for the day (like my parents house) we bring the bag on the off chance something happens.

Just keeping it in the house. We live close to the hospital + there’s really nothing in there that isn’t replaceable if for some reason I didn’t have it with me. Perhaps I’m underprepared, idk.

I’m planning on keeping it at home. If I get sent to L&D from the dr, my husband’s going to have to come home anyway to get the dogs organized for the sitter before coming to the hospital. We do have everything in one designated spot, but snacks and stuff will get added last minute I’m sure.

When I am finished with mine I’m taking it to the car! I’ll be 36 weeks on Wednesday. I only live like 5 mins from hospital but I feel that if I go into labor I will just forget and some hospitals are doing the thing where once you get there and your support person is there no one can leave and come back.

I’m 37+2 and we just put our stuff in the car. It’s been cool enough here that I don’t think anything will melt. I’d rather have everything ready to go since I am also 30 min from the hospital and I had a very quick labor with my first.
