Would you give him a second chance?

I'm 25 years old. Never met my dad. My mom told me he never wanted me. He sent her 300 for an abortion and never came looking for me even after he knew I was alive. Once I turned around 20 I found him and all his kids. They all knew him, he's been in their life. We even met. But he still refused to try to meet me and every blue moon he jumps in my inbox randomly and we have this conversation. Im exhausted and emotionally drained regarding this.

I'm ready to just never speak to him its like he just keeps making excuses idk.. do you think because he's my father I should keep trying or would you just finally be done?

Girl be done with that. Parents who want to be in their children’s lives will do absolutely anything and everything in their power to do so. 
It is never the child’s responsibility to keep a relationship with a parent alive. Not to sound harsh, but if he wanted to meet you he would. You’re so much better off to close that door instead of picking at the wound.

Sometimes biological parents are a disappointment. I’m so happy that you grew up without his lame excuses. You were able to become this intelligent woman with self worth and love. Your mom and whatever father figure(s) if you had any, did an amazing job raising you. You don’t need any reassurance from him. My sister went through the same with her biological father. He didn’t want to see her. But let me tell you something... My sister is one of the strongest women I know. I wish I had half the balls to go through and accomplish what she has. I didn’t meet my biological dad until I was 21. I tried to have a relationship with him and he just fell of planet earth: his step dad passed away when I was 27 and again I saw him and gave an effort as that’s what his mother wanted. He said he was going to give it his all this time around... shocker he didn’t. At 28 I got married and invited him to attend my wedding and told him if you don’t attend don’t contact me ever again we are done. He didn’t attend so I no longer speak to him. I have plenty of other men in my life who took his place and my mom was both parents as well. Honestly the best thing I ever did was cut him out because he can’t hurt me again!

Not at all, I was lucky enough to be adopted within my own family. My mom showed up when it was convenient for her and my dad was never there, my family felt it was important that I knew who my mom was and all my life I've been disappointed. I've tried to build a relationship with her over the years but it never worked. I met my father at 17 due to having taking a dna test, he told me that he never touched my mother. I didn't talk to him again until I was 23 when I had my first child. I explained to him that he wasn't there for me but I have no problem with him getting to know his grandchild, he doesn't even know I have 2 kids. I am completely done with my parents, I've realized that you can't force people to do the right thing and therefore its ok to move on.

The fact that he does this every once in a while with the same concept, no action to me makes it seem like he’s doing it cause he feels that it’s rather requisite and he doesn’t do it because he wants to change the situation. The meeting up thing is really up to you love, your effort is recognised but if his actions are weighing you down then you need to do what’s best for you and your emotional, and mental state and focus on you.
