Would you get your baby a helmet if they had a flat head?

I guess this is a tad controversial. As some research shows a helmet doesn't help any more then just "time". 
But then other research shows its helpful for severe cases. 
Even though lots of insurance companies do not cover it as its "cosmetic".

Absolutely, and I did get my son a helmet. Best decision ever. He only had to wear it 4 months and in the scheme of things, for a normal shaped head that's no time at all. It's no different than braces, or any other prosthetic. It doesn't mean you failed as a parent. My womb shape, combined with how my son was positioned in my womb and my son had torticolis when he was born is why he developed plagiocephaly. There was nothing we could have done to prevent it. I'm not ashamed, I'm proud that I advocated for my son and got him the help he needed to have a normal skull. 
Plus he looked so cute in it! I actually loved his helmet lol

Helmets aren't just for flat heads,  they're for misshapen skulls and stuff. If my doctor really thought it was necessary then yes I definitely would.

If it  was recommended by my children’s pediatrician, then of course. Why wouldn’t I?

I guess i don’t really understand the argument here. 
Flat head usually occurs out of the womb. Most of the time it’s the result of baby favoring one side of the head. So you aren’t altering the looks that was god given (I know a lot of people in here don’t believe in god, but you get what i mean). You’re correcting a syndrome that is easily reversible. Why would you attest having that corrected? 
I personally wouldn’t want my son spending a life time with something that could have taken a few weeks to reverse.

My cosmetic insecurity being pushed on my kid? No. 
My kid is two and has a very flat top of her head, can’t really tell unless her hair is wet. It’s not an issue, though, per her doctor.

Yes it can cause issues later on in life. My second child needed it because he had Torticollis in his neck causing him to not want to move his head at a young age. Didn’t even need it the whole 6 months they originally thought. Do it before it’s too late!￼

It depends on how bad it is. My second son had a pretty lopsided head. I was able to fix it by laying him on a specific side for naps and bedtime.
