Belly button pain

Experiencing sharp, stabbing pains right above my belly button. Each time it has occurred, has been as I was laying down at night time. Laying on my side or stomach worsens it. Being on my back doesn't bring relief but normally, I've slept it off. Curious as to what it could be in that it comes and goes. I get nauseated along with the pain. Could it possibly be an umbilical hernia? Or ideas?!
