We're going to drive through holiday lights on Friday night and my husband mentioned maybe we should turn our daughter's car seat around so she can see the lights (presumably they'll look better from the front). I'd wanted to leave her rear facing as long as possible, ideally up to age 4, but I'm considering it. I think once we turn her the genie will be out of the bottle though 😬

Honestly we just unbuckled my son and let him sit on our laps for the lights. We went a couple weekends ago and I don’t think we ever went over 15 mph lol might just be easier than having to do the turn around and then back

Mine has been forward facing since she was 2 and a half but she is huge for her age, everyone asks her if she is 4 or 5 and they look shocked when she says she is 3 😂

Still rear facing here! We are doing drive thru lights tonight, and one of us will sit in the back with him and just unbuckle him and let him sit in our lap while we go through the display. We’ve done this for a few drive thru events recently.

We did the Christmas lights and it was well worth it to turn them around! For them to be able to see what was coming next! We actually had considered taking them out and putting them on our lap and I thought I better not get to crazy 😆 we made sure to explain to our 3 year old that it was just for special occasion, and that he would need to be turned back around. And he didn't give us much of a problem at all! He is still rear facing.

Mine has been forward facing for at least a year now. My pediatrician recommended it because her legs were bent while sitting rear faced and she said once that starts happening, it becomes a safety issue and they need to be switched.

My daughter is forward facing. She is huge. I know that’s not an excuse but it was nice to turn her around and be able to not sit with my knees to the dash. She is 42” tall and 40lbs.

Mine is rear facing, but she’s VERY petite.

We had to. Even though he’s not to the maximum size yet, he kept unbuckling himself during drives because he wanted to turn around (the little stinker). 🤦🏽‍♀️ Buckled in properly but forward facing is safer than not buckled at all.
