How many ultrasounds did you have throughout your pregnancy?

I want to get an additional/private ultrasound before Christmas so I can announce the pregnancy and gender at the same time on Christmas. I was planning to only get a few ultrasounds (12 weeks and 20 weeks, I’m 16 weeks now) but this would be the best time to announce and really the only time my family will all be together. I just hope that it’s safe and wanted to find out if others had perfectly healthy babies and had more than a few ultrasounds. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists calls for one or two ultrasounds in a normal pregnancy. Thank you!

I’m p ly 7 weeks and I’ve had about 6/7 scans due to complications and ruling out another ectopic

5 so far (unlikely to get another). Had one at 8 weeks to confirm, then needed 3 anatomy scans because of her position (they couldn't see everything they needed to) then a growth scan because my fundal height was measuring small.

I had like 5 in the ER when I had dehydration from HG and had to go in. I had 3 at my OB office. To confirm pregnancy, anatomy scan, and to check position at 36 weeks. And then we did a private 4D scan. So 9 total.

First was to confirm my pregnancy, 2nd was to check up on how baby was growing and gender. The 3d time I just had to go back because they couldn't get a good measurement of the babies spine. And with my daughter I had a private 3d ultrasound

1st was early to date my pregnancy 
2nd attempt nuchal translucency scan but baby didn't cooperate 
3rd nuchal translucency scan
4th detailed anatomy scan and attempt to get gender
5th private scan to get gender
6th scan in my 3rd trimester 
With this pregnancy I've had 3 so far. I'll be 24wks on Friday

I had a private ultrasound at 16 weeks to find out gender. I think you should go for it. It won't hurt the baby

That recommendation isn’t about the safety of the baby it’s just the amount you should atleast get minimally during pregnancy. My ob gives one every month and also I paid for private ones too. I’m 20 weeks and I’ve had at least 6 or 7! I love seeing my baby lol
