I don't know what to do..... someone give me advice.

So my husband's always works sooo much, and his excuse always been because he needs to do his job he cant just leave( he's salary) so we always argue about this all the time until we sat down and talked and agree he just needs to keep me updated and try not to be so much at work ... if hes going to be late all he needs to do is let me know. But anyways he did great for like 3 weeks communicating and getting done with work close to on time.... and then he stopped updating me so I reminded him I still want updates well he kind did and stop again and i let it go but hes been staying late again and not updating me or anything so I finally got tired of it. Got argument last night and now we not talking, he usually sends me a long sweet good morning text and now was just send it short " made it to work and love you." And I hate it cause I miss him and makes me angry we are both acting like this.I just dont understand why he acts like he should be the mad one, all i want is communication. We were doing great when he was finally doing it. I guess idk im just asking for too much? and overreacted t??????

UPDATE!!! Thank you guys for your input. I do let him know I appreciate all the hard work he does. And he does text me throughout the day... so it's not problem for him to use his phone . I do ask him to please update me if hes going to be late so the kids and I planned the rest of the night without him. But I understand I will try to be more understandable. Thank you all.
