Hernia surgery while pregnant?

Has anyone had umbilical hernia surgery while pregnant? My doctor is sending me to a specialist next week because she thinks it may be best to get the surgery now instead of after because of the amount of discomfort I’m in. Just wondering if anyone has done it and if that’s even a thing? Also I’m super nervous as I’ve NEVER been put under before😥

I had a painful hernia as well, but as long as it isn't interfering with your digestion eg the herniated bowel isn't kinked, they recommended that I wait until after the birth. I had it fixed a few months pp.
