Anyone get an epidural before?

How many cm dilated were you when you decided you needed it?

With my first 2, I got it at 5 cm. They wouldn't let before then. With my 4th, I got it at 4cm, only bc I kept insisting on it.  It didn't fully work anyway and wore off at 8cm. So, I pushed without any pain relief.

I was induced for high blood pressure. Had been awake for 36 hours and stuck at 6 cm for 3 hours. I was just so done and thought I’d take a break. The epidural ended up completely relaxing me and baby was in my arms an hour after it started working. 😳💙

After they broke my water with my first the pain was super intense (I felt nothing before it) but after it was one long contraction. I don’t know how far dilated I was. With my second, when they said I was in a good contraction pattern (still couldn’t feel it) and were ready to break my water I asked for it and then they broke my water after. 2.5 hours later I was feeling a lot of pressure and the nurse checked me and I was over 10 cm and ready to push. I basically had a pain free birth the second time lol

Hell yeah 😂 4 cm—basically as soon as they’d give it to me. I was 24 hours into my induction at that point.

I made it to 7 and over 48 hours of labor before I caved and asked for it. It failed twice. I didn't ask for it to be fixed the second time

10cm 😬 hadn’t been checked in the two hours since arriving and was only at 4cm when I got there.

I got mine done both times around 4-5cms. I don't think they'll do it if you're under that.

I was around 7cm and had been in labor for over 24 hours at that point so I needed a break lol.
