Starting to use OPK strips...any advice?

I'm about to start my 3rd cycle ttc and I finally broke down and will use an opk this time. I ordered Easy@Home brand from Amazon.. Anyone have any advice on when to start testing, should I test once or twice a day? Does it need to be FMU?

Start CD 10, test once a day from midday onwards (LH is produced in the early AM so FMU might not actually have much built up in it yet). 
It might take a few cycles to get to know your personal LH surge and ovulation pattern (but here’s hoping you conceive soon anyway!). As you learn more, you can adjust when you test from and how often you test.
One last tip: don’t obsess over what opk reader apps tell you. Unless you have specific vision impairments, then if your eyeballs tell you the lines are equally dark, then they’re equally dark! And if the lines are neeeeeeearly the same but not quite, it will never hurt to have sex that day anyway, as the process of ovulation begins as LH is climbing, not just after it peaks!

I started testing once a day (in the afternoon) when my period ended. When I entered my “fertile” zone I tested twice a day (in the morning and in the afternoon). When I started seeing my lines go darker I tested 3 times (am, afternoon, and before bed) I didn’t want to miss my surge! Now I got my surge and I’m testing once a day to make sure my levels go back down and stay down. Good luck!!
