Crying during penetrative sex, is that weird??

So, for the last few months I’ve been sleeping with a friend of mine. It’s casual, we both enjoy it, it’s simple. Well three months ago, I don’t know what happened. We were having sex, and I had been completely fine during foreplay. Then he started to vaginally penetrate me and I had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to cry. He immediately stopped and comforted me, but I was sobbing for a good five minutes. And now, it won’t stop happening. We tried another night and I flipped out and cried again. I’ve tried just going solo, but the second I try penetration, I burst into tears. And it’s this loud uncontrollable sob, you would think I’m dying from how dramatic it is, but I can’t stop. Anyone ever had this happen?
