I’m 31 and on my third outbreak that is going on almost 4 weeks now. The dr prescribed me acyclovir, 5 times a day for 5 days. It’s helping but won’t go away still. It’s been 9 days taking the medicine. Granted I do forget 1-2 doses a day. I’m also taking 2 l-lysine a day. Shouldn’t it be going away by now??

The doctor won’t change my dose or anything. In fact I called the office and they didn’t even change the instructions or anything. So what do I do, keep taking the medicine until the outbreak is gone? Lol

I know for a fact my high anxiety and stress caused the outbreak. Is there anything suggested I can take to help with the stress? I’m going back on Lexapro for depression. I hope it helps.

I have a toddler daughter and live with family. Having an outbreak makes me have even more stressed. I wish it would go away already.

Also is getting a rash with the sores normal? Just kinda have a rash in all my genital area. Thank you!
