Was it wrong ?

Im 22 years old now but when I was 17 in high school I started dating a 14 yr old boy which I didn't know he was that young but I liked him a lot so even tho it embarrassed me at first I went thru with it. We dated for a year and I really really was in love with him, he was smart and pretty mature, I broke up with him because when I graduated high school I had to move states. But now that I'm 22 I can't imagine myself doing that ... Im definetely not a pedophile because I'm not attracted to kids/underage people. Maybe it was a phase ? Or it was just with him ? I don't know how to explain it .
