Visitors with newborn?

Have you or will you be allowing family to visit your baby?
Our girl is 2 weeks, we haven’t allowed visitors yet besides outside at a distance for a very brief moment.
Trying to decide if we let our parents, and my brother & his family meet her or wait becuase of Covid.

No. We’re not allowing visitors. My mom is helping with our other two but that’s it- and she’s masked

We haven’t yet. She’ll be 6 weeks on Saturday. It’s been really hard on both us and family and feels completely unnatural to not share her with everyone but I would never forgive myself if something happened. We will probably wait until she’s built up her immune system a bit, closer to 3 months. I don’t want a sick baby regardless of what the sickness is to be honest.

Nope. No visitors here! The risk of baby getting sick, especially in the first 30 days of life, is not worth the routine neonatal sepsis work up newborns have to endure if they become sick with a fever.

After the scare we had today, we aren’t allowing anyone to come and visit (with the exception of my parents who are helping us out) unless they have a negative covid test and have quarantined for at least 10 days. If anyone wants to visit they can visit through the window. 
We were scheduled to have our newborn photographer come and do photos in our home today, but she sent us a message that her husband tested positive for covid. I’m so thankful this happened before she arrived to do the photos but now my husband and I are very very worried about having her come and do the photos in January.

We took her to my dads house cause he lives an hour away from us & then my mother in law came from outta town & stayed for a few days & we had visitors. We just ask that everyone either wash hands or put hand sanitizer on. We aren’t too worried about her catching covid, cause the nurses & pediatrician said that it’s unlikely that she will get it.

We've been allowing people to meet and hold her with a mask on to hold her. She's 2 weeks.  When she hits a month old I won't make people wear masks anymore.

Yep. My in laws met her the day we brought her home since they were watching my oldest. My family came over the next day. Everyone wore masks and washed hands. They’ve also been social distancing for months. In my opinion the small risk of exposure she had from seeing them was worth it - I don’t want something to happen like my family getting in a car accident and dying (which is more likely, statistically than any of us dying from Covid or even the flu, since we’re all low risk) and my daughter never meeting them. 
You’ve just got to weigh the pros and cons and do what’s best for your current situation. There’s not a “one size fits all” solution for this kinda thing.

My in laws met our new little one because they quarantined before my due date so they could watch my eldest while I was in labor. Only my mom has held our newborn (with a mask on) bc she gets weekly covid tests for work. We will be staying away from everyone else for a while because my sisters and my sister in law are being huge idiots and going to bars unmasked, and then interacting with our parents. If they weren't acting like that I may be more inclined to let more people meet the baby.

My parents met him the day he came home and my younger sisters as well. They kept my dog while we were in the hospital so when they brought him to us they got to meet the baby. My husbands parents live in Rhode Island and came down right before Christmas with his younger sister (13 yo). They all quarantined and got tested for covid before coming. Recently my older brother came to stay with my parents for Christmas and he met our little guy as well. Besides both our immediate families, no one else will be meeting him for a long while.

Ours isn’t here yet, but we’re doing just the first two weeks with us, and then grandparents. But everyone has to do either 2 weeks of quarantine or quarantine for 4-5 days after last outdoor exposure, then test, then quarantine until the results.
