What’s the deal with resting heart rate?

I read somewhere rhr can indicate start of period. Can anyone vouch for this theory?? And if so, when does your heart rate start to drop before af and by how much??

My resting heart rate was actually an indicator of pregnancy for me, weirdly enough!
Where it’s circled is when I got a positive pregnancy test. It started to go up from there!

I check my lowest heart rate during the night (so when i wake up). It goes up with about 3 towards the end of the tww, then drops back to normal: af has arrived/arrives this day.
When i was pregnant it stayed up.
But it is no guarantee of course, your wearable can make a mistake, you can be stressed, etc.

I have a Fitbit and this works. RHR will eventually go up during the tww. Mine goes up straight after ov but this seems to be individual depending on the person as some people have a dip first. 
It comes down the day I start spotting for AF from say 68 to 66, then AF usually starts and then continues down by 1 per day until it rests at 63/64 with slight up and downs until I ovulate again.  
Of course your RHR (on the Fitbit at least) can be affected by how much sleep you get, how dehydrated you are when you got bed, if you drink alcohol, have a lazier day than usual etc. So it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
