Return of period question

I'm sure this has been asked a ton of times, but just wondering when everyone's period returned (for those breastfeeding).  My little guy will be 8 months on Tuesday, I am still breastfeeding (though he does have some fruits/veggies/little bites during the day), and no return of my period yet.  My doctor said it can take a year or more,  so it's normal, but just wondering around when everyone saw a return.  Also, any signs/symptoms you noticed before the return?  I definitely love breastfeeding, but crazy enough I miss having my period every month, and feeling like a woman and not just a mama!
